Peu complaisant avec les injustices, les dessins gardent une part d’imaginaire jouissif. On retrouve tour à tour ,des messieurs très poilus qui aiment lutter en maillot , des aliens qui sympathisent avec la cause lgtb, et quelques héros sortis des dessins annimés de notre enfance. Un vrai régal Merci Hugo pour ces sourires contre l’homophobie et l’intolérance.

I studied at the École Supérieure des Arts Appliqués et du Textile (ESAAT) in Roubaix, France. I look at painting as yet another way to tell a story. Focused on male bodies, my art is often seen as being “gay oriented”. If it is somehow partly true, it goes much far beyond this aspect. In fact, through human bodies, I aim at depicting feelings: strength, power and tension. The characters are often rough (punks, skinheads, fighters…), which also motivates the choice of surfaces they are painted on (used fabric, woods and jeans), making my art urban, and transforming paintings not only in pictures, but in objects in themselves. I also explore light and shadows and how it works on different bodies. In addition to that, I try to include a touch of irony and humor in my art, through “Alexis” a cartoon cat character that I have created. alexislekat@gmail.com

I live and paint in a tiny apartment in the East Village in New York.

I am a starving artist who eats black beans and tuna fish out of the can. I love punks, wierdos, femme tops, and butch bottoms.

My apartment always smells like oil paint and dirty socks. I make tee shirts and sometimes do ghost drawing for peanuts characters to make money. I know I am popular in Japan. Everyonce and a while I am lucky enough to sell a painting. I am covered in tattoos and love homemade tattoos.

My heros are popeye, witches, and monsters, cats, bunnies, bears, owls, and birds. I am not politically correct and sometimes I fart in public. Most of my time is spent painting and reading comics. Next time you are in New York stop by my studio for some coffee or tea…

I love visitors I promise I will light some insence.

Quelques mots de l’artiste en anglais

I’m a european illustrator who has been drawing for as long as I can remember. I was born by the Mediterranean sea but moved to the UK and USA to study art. I got my master’s degree in illustration (MFA) in New York.

I started out working in advertising agencies doing graphic design and illustration. One day I decided to make the leap into freelancing.

When I was a kid I loved comic books such as Tintin, Asterix and some superheros.

I was always intrigued and fascinated by the process of telling stories with pictures and I love all the stages of it. I enjoy making my imaginary world come to live developing characters, making up places and situations and creating atmospheres.

I’m inspired by daily life and try to absorb all kinds of ideas from what surrounds me.

My first gay erotic comic “Fetuccini Carbonara” is part of a series of stories called “Alessio in Wonderland”. It depicts the adventures of Alessio, a guy who keeps changing jobs regularly, meeting new people and living life to the fullest.
